Our Virtual Case Experiences allow students and graduates to dive into simulated client projects and gain insights into different careers at PwC, from wherever they are and in their own time.
In 2023, Guillaume Pilloud solved our Virtual Case Experience in Audit to find out if this career path was right for him and to strengthen his hands-on knowledge of auditing. After successfully completing the case and his bachelor’s degree at EHL, he joined PwC as an Audit Associate in Geneva.
Explore his journey of completing one of our Virtual Case Experiences and how it prepared him for his audit career.
I chose to complete the Virtual Case Experience focused on Audit and thoroughly enjoyed it because not only was it very insightful but also fun. It’s an interactive format with videos, reading, and documents, so it allowed me to fully immerse myself in the simulated client situations. The variety of tasks ranging from planning the audit to analysing the financial statements to completing the audit was also the perfect introduction to the role of an auditor at PwC.
Participating in the Virtual Case Experience was a big step for me in my journey towards a career at PwC. The experience helped to strengthen my understanding of audit processes in general, and more specifically PwC’s audit process.
It was also extremely helpful in preparing me for the interviews I had with my current colleagues. The hands-on audit knowledge I gained, like the intricacies of how we document our work, allowed me to have a smooth start at PwC.
My greatest experience so far was undoubtedly the audit we completed for an international bank. We prepared collectively as a team, and as the deadline approached, we collaborated to ensure everything was executed perfectly.
This experience not only strengthened my audit skills but also taught me the immense value of teamwork. Contributing towards the final audit report was an invaluable learning experience that showed how important attention to detail and collective effort are to achieve excellent outcomes.
The best piece of advice I could give them is simply to give it a go! The Virtual Case Experience is flexible, and the simulated cases are well structured so that you can take breaks between assignments, and even start on one day and finish on another. I would also advise students to take their time completing it, and not to rush through it. It is a fantastic way to see if being an auditor at PwC will suit you.
