Inga Herrmann talks about her role at PwC and following her passion for holistic health and nutrition.
1. Your profession: Tell us what you do – for PwC and regarding your very own career.
I joined PwC Switzerland in February 2022 and I’m part of the Human Capital People & Organisational Development team where I lead the onboarding process from the Talent Management & Development side. My objectives are to continuously improve the onboarding experience for our new-joiners and shape PwC Switzerland’s talent strategy.
During my master’s degree, I realised that I wanted to combine my passion for holistic health and nutrition with my background in business. Following my heart, I developed a strategic health promotion concept in cooperation with a large Swiss company, became a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and ultimately founded my own health coaching business.
In my practice as a health and nutrition coach, I help my clients identify and solve the underlying root causes of their ongoing struggle and empower them to find their individual form of sustainable nutrition and holistic health.
Both my work at PwC and as a health coach allow me to support people in their development and to empower them to live their best lives.
2. Your path: What made you pursue this journey, and at what point was it clear to you that you wanted the best of both worlds?
I’ve always enjoyed working in an international environment and being part of a young, dynamic, and future-oriented team. However, I also wanted to have my own business.
In my job as a health coach, I recognise that creating your own personal balance in body, mind, and soul is a key aspect in finding your own version of holistic health. This requires consideration of all areas of your life that have an impact on your well-being. This is also true for myself: creating a balance between the corporate world and entrepreneurship is my way forward and something I try to put into practice every day.
"Both my work at PwC and as a health coach allow me to support people in their development and to empower them to live their best lives."
3. Your balance: How did PwC support you on this journey, and how do you manage both streams of your career?
I’m very thankful to be able to work part-time at PwC and simultaneously operate my own health coaching business. However, to manage and sustainably perform at both my jobs, I need to create clear boundaries for myself, be very structured, and prioritise my holistic health. This includes prioritising sleep and having a morning routine to start the day grounded and fully energised. Balance is an ongoing topic, and I’m keen in actively shaping it to get the best out of both worlds – working at PwC as well as running my own business and following my passion.
