Starting your internship is also the start of a new chapter in your life, and we know how frightening it can be to you ... arriving in our building seeing so many people in a rush, going from one place to another. You probably won't get used to it in the first week, not even in the first month, and don't you worry, we’ve got your back! Here are 6 things that will make the first days of your internship much easier:
1. Get a picture of what’s going on
In your first few days it’s important to get to know your team and new colleagues, understand the processes, and work out where your job and position fit in. Ask questions to make sure you’ve understood everything, and in your first few days make sure you listen carefully.
2. Take notes... lots of them
Draw up a list of the names of your colleagues and customers, write down your tasks and tips on how to deal with specific jobs and administrative procedures. Don't be afraid of making screenshots, or writing down every single detail, it will help you a lot in the upcoming time.
3. Extend your network
Actively approach colleagues from your team, other lines of service or even those people you met in your new joiner days. Show an interest in them as a person and what they do. This will help you understand how things fit together and will enable you to develop personally and professionally.

4. Speak up
Get involved in discussions, ask questions, come up with your own ideas and show initiative. Don’t forget that in terms of your career you’re the one in the driver’s seat.
5. Feedback is key
Ask your coach and your team for regular feedback. This shows you’re interested in developing and makes it easier to work with people as a team.
6. Show you’re motivated
Have a positive attitude towards your daily life, tasks and team. If something isn't clear don't be afraid of asking questions, until you get it! If you don't receive good feedback, don't view it as a boulder in your way ... no one can ever get up without falling, right?
We hope these 6 things will help make your first days easier. Just bear in mind that it is ok to ask questions, even if they seem dull, just go ahead. Good luck!
