What is part of your employment contract?

  • Your employment contract consists of a document with all relevant details concerning your employment with us, such as the start date, location, salary, trial period and notice period, among others.
  • In addition, all regulations provided to you in Workday together with your contract or sent to you via email are a part of your contract (e.g. HC Terms and Conditions, Working Time Policy).
  • By signing the employment contract you confirm that you have received and understood all the regulations; this includes, in particular, the Code of Conduct, the HC Terms and Conditions, the Working Time Policy, the information leaflet on joining the pension scheme, the Policy on External Activities, and the Independence regulations.

Important information you need to know/consider before you sign the contract

Extracts from the criminal record and debt enforcement register as well as regulatory disciplinary measures

  • Ensuring the professional integrity of our employees is a key factor for PwC Switzerland to fulfill our mission to build trust in society. We therefore need current extracts from the criminal record and debt enforcement registers before you can start with us. In addition, you are required to inform us about regulatory disciplinary measures by supervisory authorities (e.g. FAOA, FMA, SEC, PCAOB, etc.).
  • The extract from the criminal record and debt enforcement register should not be older than three months at the time of submission and must cover at least the last two years – without interruption. Additionally, all documents provided must not be older than 6 months at the time of the first working day.
  • If you have lived in various places or different countries over the last two years, we need the relevant extract from all countries of residence. Please note that if you’ve lived in Switzerland for less than 3 months at the time of your start date, you do not need to request a debt enforcement register extract. However, a Swiss criminal record extract has to be provided in any case, even if you will only move to Switzerland a few days before joining PwC Switzerland. Please contact HC4You (hc4you@pwc.ch) for details on equivalent excerpts and their providers abroad.
  • Please send us the extracts in digital form by email to HC4You (hc4you@pwc.ch) or in paper form to the following address: PricewaterhouseCoopers AG, HC4You, Birchstrasse 160, P.O. Box, 8050 Zurich. Please include the following information in the subject line of your email: "Background check - first and last name - Start date: DD.MM.YYYY. The documents need to be handed in 7 days before the start at the latest.  We're aware that obtaining the documents may take some time. For this reason, we would like to ask you to fill in and send us a self-declaration form by email to HC4You before your start date, if you cannot provide the required extracts in time.
  • Your data will be handled confidentially by HC4You and not forwarded to your future team or your Coach.
  • The employment contract will enter into force only if these documents have been provided and found to contain no entries at all or no entries that would impede or call into doubt your professional integrity in any way. Any entries will be reviewed by our legal department. The legal department is responsible for determining whether there is any impediment to you joining our firm.

Compliance and independence

  • Ensuring legal, financial and commercial independence and compliance is a high priority for PwC. For this reason, there are certain restrictions for PwC employees and partners that may impact your personal financial and business situation. You can find the details in the ‘Independence regulations’ and in the ‘Policy on External Activities’ sent to you together with your employment contract and summarised in your employment contract.
  • By signing the contract, you confirm the points listed under ‘Compliance and Independence’ in the contract and that you understand the ‘Independence regulations’ and the ‘Policy on External Activities’.
  • If you can’t confirm one or more of the statements in the contract, ‘Independence regulations’ or the ‘Policy on External Activities’, please contact the Recruitment Team before signing the contract (CH_onboarding@pwc.ch, +41 58 792 49 99).
  • Our Recruitment Team will then check with our legal department the extent to which this is relevant to your position at PwC. You'll then be informed of the legal department’s decision and whether and on what conditions you can take up your position with us.

PwC pension scheme

  • Our very own pension fund provides you with generous contributions and tailored investment options. Dive into our one-pager to uncover the benefits.
  • Key points about joining our pension scheme can be found in the document ‘Leaflet Admission – Pension Fund’ sent to you together with your employment contract. Please read this information carefully.
  • The ‘MPS Pension Fund Regulations’ is also sent to you together with your employment contract. It contains detailed information on admission conditions (including potential health checks and limitations), services, contributions and the legal framework.
  • Please contact our Pensions Team directly by email or telephone if you have any questions about the pension scheme (ch_pk_team@pwc.ch, +41 58 792 47 00).
