Welcome to PwC

We’re excited that you have chosen to become part of PwC Switzerland! Here we give you an overview of what to expect on your first days at PwC.

E-mail with the details for your first days

  • You’ll receive an e-mail with information on your first days with us about one week before you start.
  • To ensure the mail gets to you in good time, please make sure your personal information (e.g. email address) in your Workday account is up to date.

Welcome Days

  • On your first days with us, we invite you to participate in our Welcome Days.
  • Welcome Days are held partly in-person in our Zurich office and partly virtually.
  • You’ll receive an e-mail with detailed information on the Welcome Days about one week before you start.

 

Who is invited: 

  • All new employees to PwC Switzerland are invited to Welcome Days. This also includes employees joining from other firms in the PwC network.
  • Employees who re-join PwC Switzerland after an absence of less than the previous 12 months don’t attend Welcome Days.
  • Contingent workers (e.g. freelancers or workers hired via an agency) don't attend Welcome Days.

 

What to expect during the Welcome Days:

During the Welcome Days you will experience:

  • Partner welcome – getting to know your welcoming partner’s personal PwC journey and learning more about our firm
  • IT session – getting to know PwC environment and tools
  • Digital transformation and upskilling – learning more about digital strategy and upskilling at PwC
  • Meet your Line of Service (LoS) – learning about your future line of service, its projects and key people
  • PwC&You: Brand/Leadership – exploring different aspects of PwC culture in an interactive way
  • HC orientation – getting familiar with immediately relevant HC topics
  • PwC Culture exploration – learning about key elements of PwC culture
  • E-learnings – getting to know the PwC Brand, Code of conduct and more.

Advisory Onboarding Weeks

  • Following the Welcome Days, we invite you to participate in our two-week Advisory Onboarding Programme.
  • The Advisory Onboarding Programme will be held physically in our Zurich office.
  • You’ll receive an e-mail with detailed information about the Onboarding Programme one to two weeks before you start.

 

Who is invited: 

  • All new Advisory employees to PwC Switzerland are invited to the Onboarding Weeks. This also includes employees joining from the PwC network.
  • Employees who re-join PwC Switzerland after an absence of less than the previous 12 months don’t attend the Onboarding Weeks.
  • Contingent Workers, e.g. freelancers or workers hired via agency, don't attend the Onboarding Weeks.

 

What to expect during the Onboarding Weeks: 

This two-week programme is tailored to prepare you for role in our Consulting and Deals teams. During this time, you will experience:

  • Story lining and Slide Design – being introduced to the consulting craft work of a consultant and how to tailor reports to your audience
  • MS Office & other tools – leveraging basic and advanced MS Office, training on slide design and storytelling, getting to know our PwC-specific software.
  • Agile world  gaining an understanding of agile project management and applying learnings in practical sessions.
  • Efficient proposal and engagement management  learning about proposal development and project planning, understanding risk management and engagement economics, training on PMO and change management.
  • People & Culture – getting to know PwC’s culture and reflecting on the best ways to give valuable feedback.
  • Case study – putting learnings into practice and experiencing a “mini-project” in team collaboration, simulating client engagement scenarios.
  • Dinner – experience a nice evening together with Partners / Directors from our leadership teams.
  • Celebration – enjoy an apéro together to celebrate the completion of the Advisory Onboarding weeks.

For Audit New Joiners starting in the months October and November

  • Following the Welcome Days in Zurich, Assurance 1 courses take place during the first two weeks of October and November, depending on your contract start date.
  • New joiners in September and December join a three-day “crash course” in one of the PwC offices.
  • The Assurance 1 course will be held in-person (i.e. your physical presence is required) outside of the PwC offices. You’ll stay in a hotel during these two weeks (except weekends).
  • Hotel rooms will be booked for you. The rooms are shared with one other participant. Preferences will be considered.
  • You’ll receive an e-mail with detailed information about the Onboarding Programme one to two weeks before you start.

 

Who’s invited: 

  • All Associate 1 and Associate 2 New Joiners from Audit are invited to Assurance 1.

 

What to expect during Assurance 1: 

This two-week programme is tailored to prepare you for your role in our Audit teams. During this time, you will:

  • Learn about audit methodologies
  • Analyse case studies – putting learning into practice by experiencing team collaboration and simulating client engagement scenarios
  • Hear about coaching and feedback
  • Start to build your network with colleagues during social events, including some sports activities, enjoying dinners and evenings spent together

Remember to bring warm clothes due to the season and the high probability of spending some time in the mountains! 

Digital Assurance New Joiners

  • During your first months with PwC you will be participating in an international Digital Assurance training programme.
  • This programme is divided into three modules and lasts a total of 9 days.
  • Module 1 and module 2 will be offered virtually, module 3 will be an on-site training in Portugal.
  • You will receive all details in due time before each part of your course.

Who’s invited:

  • All New Joiners at Associate grade from Digital Assurance are invited to this international Digital Assurance training.

What to expect during the international Digital Assurance training:

  • You will be prepared for the challenges in the risk services.
  • Learn about PwC, risk services, audit approach, tools and projects.
  • Work on case studies.
  • Start to build relationships.
