  • This makes PwC Switzerland the leading provider of end-to-end business transformations

  • With this transaction, PwC Switzerland is driving forward its growth strategy in the advisory business and further expanding its market position as a provider of business transformation with SAP S4/HANA

Zurich, 31 March 2023 – As part of its growth strategy, PwC Switzerland is acquiring Avoras, an established provider of SAP enabled business transformation in the pharma and life sciences sector. In addition to its headquarters in Basel, Avoras has offices in Portugal, Germany, USA, Malaysia and Singapore. Approximately 60 employees will transfer to PwC.

With this transaction, an innovative and successful company will join PwC as per Q2 2023. Avoras, founded in 2017, has an in-depth knowledge in the area of business transformation, and counts the leading Basel pharmaceutical & life sciences and chemical companies among its long-standing customers. “We are thrilled to have such a skilled and experienced team of SAP and agile experts like Avoras join us. This transaction will further strengthen our already leading advisory services and provides another massive boost that will help us to serve our customers in a more comprehensive way,” says Andreas Staubli, CEO of PwC Switzerland.

Strategic expansion of the advisory business
PwC is continuously expanding its advisory services in response to the strong growth in customers’ needs. The demand for highly qualified advisory services in particular continues to grow unabated. “We are pleased to be able to significantly strengthen our end-to-end business transformation advisory services together with PwC. For our customers, this means even more comprehensive support worldwide thanks to additional experience and expertise,” says Ralph Bäumle, Managing Partner of Avoras.

As a SAP Gold Partner, Avoras brings additional expertise to advise companies on the transition to S/4HANA. PwC Switzerland was awarded SAP Platinum Partner status in 2020. This is the highest global partner status, which partners only receive by invitation from SAP. The selection process takes into account the partner's ability to successfully deliver SAP transformation projects, its impeccable history of high-quality customer service and therefore the overall sustainability of the business model from the partner firm. PwC focuses on supporting customers in the S/4HANA environment. In addition, PwC supports them in optimising SAP architectures with solutions such as SAP Central Finance and procurement solutions such as Ariba and SAP Central Procurement and carries out customer projects with a holistic approach from strategy to implementation.

PwC leadership team strengthened
The owners of Avoras, Ralph Bäumle, Kris Ammann and Dario Götte, will join PwC as partners and complement the leadership team together with the existing partners in PwC’s Technology division. The employees of Avoras in Switzerland and the international locations will be taken over and transferred to the joint structure after the closing of the transaction in the second quarter of 2023.
