Erol Baruh is a Geneva-based legal advisor at PwC Switzerland, with a professional focus on investor protection, financial crime compliance, market integrity and responsible business conduct.
He regularly advises banks, financial institutions and commodity traders on the whole scope of regulatory and contractual issues. He leads internal / external audits and non-audit assurance engagements. He also supports market participants on licensing projects and corporate matters.
Erol has conducted several gap analysis / transformation projects related to the implementation of new Swiss and EU regulations (FINSA, FINIA, MiFID2, FMIA, AMLO-FINMA, EUAP, SFDR).
Erol holds a law degree and a doctorate from the University of Lausanne. He was admitted to the Geneva bar in 2008. Prior to joining PwC in 2015, he worked for six years in the banking and finance department of a Swiss business law firm. He is a regular speaker at conferences and publishes on his area of expertise. Since 2019, he has been a guest lecturer for the Executive Certificate "SDG Investing" at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.
