Which tools and technologies do you use in your daily work?
At PwC, we use different technologies in our audit engagements. In addition to the classical Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) we use other tools such as PowerBI, Alteryx, Datasnipper and Connect. These enable us to automate some of our audit procedures to i) increase the range of the data subject to our testing and ii) spare precious time to spend on more complex and subjective topics. These tools and applications are truly appreciated by our clients and our PwC audit teams.
Which digital upskilling trainings have you done recently, and how did you and your client benefit from it?
At PwC we are human-led and tech-enabled – investing in our digital acumen and upskilling is an absolute priority. Therefore, we can allocate dedicated time to in-class and self-study curriculum of technology-enabled tools, e.g. PowerBI, Alteryx and Excel, as well as through digital upskilling programmes and networks. These programmes aim to offer us the opportunity to become experts and master our technology-enabled tools by providing us with access to learning platforms, acquiring diplomas, certifications, and badges. I am currently participating in our Assurance Digital Champions programme and can simply recommend everyone to enrol as soon as they join PwC.
“PwC truly pushes employees to deepen their digital acumen.”
How do you experience and foresee the digital transformation journey in audit?
Digital transformation is inevitable. We see this as an opportunity, using our technology-enabled audit approach, to better serve our clients and to continuously upgrade the quality of our audit procedures. Thanks to new tools that are and will be made available to the audit field, our engagement teams will be able to perform more procedures in shorter periods. Our clients will benefit from of our expertise in a variety of new and more complex topics, so that together we can build trust in society and solve important problems.
