Can you describe your year in Audit from a work-life-education perspective?

My year in Audit started with the busy season, where I gained important insights on different clients and sectors. I was able to develop many technical and soft skills required to work in Audit. At the end of spring, the Swiss CPA education programmes started where I learned a lot about different topics such as accounting and reporting. Then I took several weeks off in summer before coming back to work.

What are the highlights of the PwC work-life-education approach?                   

I appreciate the changing work environment throughout the year due to the seasonality of the audit profession. After an intense busy season, we move to a slower pace, focusing on education and studying for the Swiss CPA. During the off-season I had time to travel and to rest, and I returned to work refreshed and motivated. What I very much appreciate is that when you are off to focus on your Swiss CPA education or on holidays, your time off is respected and you are not asked to work.

The busy season can be intense, how do you recharge your batteries?

I keep up with my hobbies. I make sure to spend time with my loved ones, and I exercise to avoid getting stuck in a work-home rut. I enjoy short getaways, even if only a weekend every three months, and planning several weeks of vacation in summer.
