Which PwC network member firm did you choose for your international experience and why?
I chose PwC Hungary. I perceived the economy and the market there to be very interesting, active, and exciting. And the lively culture and social life attracted me as well. There are many different restaurants and fun dog activities (I took my two huskies with me), which suited my lifestyle.
Could you describe the work you did there and how it differs from PwC Switzerland?
Like here in Switzerland, I was working in External Audit with an international team. As opposed to my client portfolio in Switzerland, I was performing statutory audits for UK entities under IFRS and UK GAAP. The office there was smaller compared to the PwC office in Zurich. Therefore, it was a great opportunity to better understand the processes and learn about firm-specific events and projects.
“The greatest benefit was expanding my professional and personal network.”
What did you learn most from this experience abroad?
I learned a lot about other industries and different client portfolios due to the work I was involved in. From a social perspective: attending PwC events and socialising with teams and colleagues was not only a learning experience and great fun but also perhaps the greatest benefit – I was able to expand my professional and personal network through another PwC office.
